********************************************************************

MAY 26 & 27, 2012

The Board of Directors of Chubb International Shooting Sports,  Inc. are proud to officially announce the creation of a Junior Olympic Development Camp (JODC)  in Olympic Trapshooting to be hosted at their Keystone Shooting Park (KSP)  complex on Saturday and Sunday,  May 26 &  27, 2012. The camp is a cooperative effort between USA Shooting and Keystone Shooting Park, which is recognized as a “Certified Training Center”  in Olympic shotgun sports by USA Shooting. The total cost of the camp is $100.00 per athlete and it’s restricted to 18 athletes.

USA Shooting has awarded a grant to Keystone Shooting Park under the “Certified Training Center”  program to offset a significant part of the costs that would normally be absorbed by the athlete. This grant now affords Junior athletes a more economical opportunity to receive intense and focused sport specific instruction as offered by certified USAS Level 1 & 2 shotgun sports coaches with over 70 years combined experience in the sport.

The purpose of the camp is to introduce Junior shotgun sports athletes to Olympic style shotgun sports disciplines and give them the proper instruction and coaching to allow them to develop a personal goal set commensurate with those set forth by Keystone Shooting Park,  USA Shooting and the United States Olympic Committee. The mission of the “Certified Training Center”  (CTC)  is to promote the sport, train and direct Junior athletes into the “Olympic Path”  for possible consideration in both National Developmental Team and National Team selection procedures for future World and Olympic competitions.

Camp athletes will be segregated into squads (Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced)  based on known ability and experience. Each squad member will contain similar skill levels which will promote a more cooperative and nurturing peer instructional environment. The segmenting will allow the coaching staff to offer uniformed and pertinent instruction to the squad based on their joint skills,  knowledge and experience. All camp athletes will receive the following:

  • Daily classroom instructional periods (Olympic Trap DVD & PowerPoint Material)
  • 5 live fire training rounds per day
  • 500 Baschieri & Pellagri Mach F2 - 24 gram 7 1/2 cartridges
  • Daily lunch and refreshments
  • Comprehensive instruction from “Certified” USAS Level 1 &  2 coaches

The camps curriculum will focus on:

  • Gun Handling Safety
  • History of the Sport
  • Choosing the Right Equipment
  • Sport Technical Aspects (Rules & Range Standards)
  • Fitness & Nutrition
  • Building Proper Technique
  • Commitment to the “Olympic Path”
  • Live Fire Training Exercises
  • Building Team Spirit

Local overnight lodging facilities are available. Please consult the Logistics/Lodging portion of our website for a list of lodging options. Each camp day shall commence at 9:00AM SHARP!!!  All athletes are requested to be on-site and have their firearms and appropriate gear prepared at least 15 minutes prior to commencement of both days. Both eye and ear protection are mandatory on the firing line and there will be no exception to those rules.

Giacomo Sporting USA,  Inc. (Perazzi)  and Krieghoff International, Inc. (Krieghoff)  will provide KSP with demonstration guns specifically set up for Olympic Trapshooting for use by our camp athletes. Each demonstration gun will have an adjustable stock which will allow it to be custom fitted for the athlete. Use of them will be permitted to all athletes under direct supervision of our coaching staff.

Pre-registration and pre-payment are mandatory. Registration will be on a first come, first serve basis. After camp capacity has been achieved a waiting list will be established. A special “PayPal” link has been established for on-line payment. Those opting to use on-line payment, you will still need to complete and sign both the “Camp Registration”  and “Liability Waiver” forms and return them either by email, fax (717-362-1966)  or by mail. Those choosing to register by mail, the check should be made out to “Keystone Shooting Park”. A full refund will be offered if cancellation notice is received (5)  days prior to the start of the camp.

We have attached a copy of our camp program,a camp flyer to be used to advertise the event at your local club and a camp registration form. Please consult these documents for camp eligibility and more details.
